I have this product, and have helped friends to set up their Roku 2's in their homes, and can tell you that both products offer access to the same channels on the channel store. The Roku stick is the cheapest of all the Roku devices, and the major difference is that this item connects to your TV by means of an HDMI wire. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI connection on it like many older TV's do not, then you would need to purchase one of the other Roku devices that allow connection to your TV using the red, white, and yellow wires. I don't remember what these are called but chances are that you've used these wires before to connect a VCR or DVD player to your TV. I hope this answers your question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same service, same number of channels. The remote does not come with a headphone port like the 2 & 3 do. Also, the 3 is the only one that is designed to allow you to play the games that Roku hosts. The 1,2, & 3 all offer you an RJ-45 port so that you can run a physical line to the box. Also those models give you an infrared control, so you can utilize a universal remote.
