• Yes, it plays through the hdmi hookup and stays charged through the USB port.

• Yes, as long as your TV has an HDMI port, that's where the device is plugged into. I have found that if the device doesn't immediately start properly in a port, it begins to function once I switch to another port. So it's great that your TV has more than one port...just in case!

• I dont have a ConnectShare type port, but it works well plugged into my standard HDMI port.
