Hi, I use the optical audio out from the TV into my receiver and I do get 5.1 sound . Most HD TV's have an optical digital out. I have used this for various thing including wireless head phones that don't cut off TV sound. These are adapters you can buy if need to convert an optical to coaxial audio. .You just have to match inputs so the receiver has to be set too TV, sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You must got a bad device cause I have mines hook up to my SS and it plays in 5.1. Did you try to reset it or took it back and exchange it for another one
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does work with surround sound it depends on the type of setup your tv has and how you have your surround system hooked up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.your sound system is not going to work no matter what . This is one of the cons with this device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Stick comes with a power cord - the USB end must be plugged into the provided AC adapter which is then plugged into a wall outlet or power strip, and other end into a HDMI port on your TV. The picture quality is an issue with your TV. Check to ensure your TV has at least 1080p with a refresh speed of 720p or higher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Had this problem and connected an audio cable and have great surround now. It is called a digital optical audio cable. Expensive but worth the cost.
