All of these devices are meant to connect to an HDMI input on the TV set, so as long as you have one on your set, you are golden. Other than that, some manufacturers specify certain devices or models as more or best compatible. Also, some of these add-ons work with some streaming services and some with other, especially when other considerations come into play: do you want 4K, 7.1 stereo, Dolby, etc. So you need to consider which streaming service you will be using. They are all cheap enough, however, that you can buy a new one if you switch from one service (say Hulu) to another (say YouTube).
