• The remote has a standard headphone jack. It comes with nice headphones, but works with any standard headphones that support the plugin jack.

• Yes you can use any type of headphone that has a 3.5 inch connector. It does not have Bluetooth capabilities.

• It is a 3.5 mm input, so any earbuds with that, or can get an adapter so that you can plug your 1/4" into 3.5mm and plug in your over-ears - that's what my hubby did!

• I'm not sure about "any type" but I have tried two different brands and they work fine. I believe it's a standard audio plug.
