“I live in an area where home internet is not an option. Our only internet is by using our cell phones as hotspots. I want to know if the Roku will play by being connected wirelessly to a hotspot or if you have to have a wired Ethernet connection.”

Hi Jodi, It should work since, you'd just pick the network name of your hotspot when setting up. With that said, it might not play very well, since cellular data rates and caps might cause you issues on quality. Worst case, you return it.
