That's a tough one. Most flat screen tv's before 2008 didn't even have a hdmi plugin. Try a colorstream extra cable device. I had the same problem. A Comcast tech told us about that and hooked it up for us. Been working great since then. For that matter, with the low cost of newer tv's, and better quality, maybe it's time to upgrade.
