A:AnswerYes! This is exactly what I used it to do and it worked fantasticly. One simply removes the hard drive from the old computer and connects it to this. The only issue I ran into was that it did require USB 3.0 on the new computer and it would not work until I realized the power switch on the cord must be turned on.
