How does it adhere to the door? null

I think it's the same premise of a command strip if you've ever used one of those to hang up something. Though when we removed a command strip once, it pulled paint off my wall. However, we have had several of these safety first locks installed for at least 6 months and they have never come off. But we've also never tried to remove one so I can't be of much help there sorry. Though I can tell you, I have a 16 pound cat that is very strong and used to pull on these things after we first installed them. He learned after awhile that he was just wasting his time. Lol. Hope this helps.

The Safety 1st OutSmart Level Lock is secured to the door using adhesive that is pre-installed on the lock.
