Simple answer is yes, it will work. Longer answer is it may not work to your liking though. I use this microphone in an untreated room and i think it sounds good. However, you're going to need to get this microphone close to your mouth to reduce the room echo and reverb. If you were to set it on your desk and talk/sing 2-3 feet from it, it will pick up a lot of room echo and not sounds good. If you're using this to zoom, not a big deal you'll be loud and clear. Or your recording a song, then not good. This is not a problem only to this microphone though. This is pretty much all microphones especially condenser microphones. TL:DR, get it close to your mouth and you can get away with using this in an untreated room.
