Hi MrMarker, We appreciate your question about how loud the vent fan is on the microwave. Range hood loudness is measured in sones. As a comparison, 1 sone is about the loudness of a quiet running refrigerator, 4 is a normal conversation, and 8 is about light traffic. Samsung range hoods are over 10 sones.
