• I ran into the same problem. The microwave comes with a standard three prong plug that fits into an outlet. You have two options: you can either install an outlet to the existing wires (recommended), or you can cut the plug off and hardwire to the existing wires. If you cut off the plug, you will void the warranty.

• Do not cut off and hardwire. You should have an outlet which can be used as a disconnecting means for service.
