It is inside top exhaust grill. Remove grill and you can access the charcoal filter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The charcoal filter is used if you are not venting the exhaust outside. It goes just above the display behind the metal strip above the door. The owners manual explains how to convert the exhaust flow from being directed outside to recirculate inside.

Remove screws on top of grille using a #1 Phillips screwdriver Open the door Remove the grille (push the grille to the left and pull straight out) Install the charcoal grill in the center top front of the microwave, mesh side up Reinstall the grille (push in and slide to the right) Install the Phillips screws on the top of microwave Close the door

Undo three screws and slide the plastic vent to the left. The filter goes into the center "box" (you'll see the blower in the back of the compartment) at a slant. The directions at the point of installing the filter are very vague.
