A:AnswerI had the same question but realized that the 17" measurement includes how far the handle sticks out. This model is exactly the same depth as my last one, 15.25. They should explain how they calculate the measurements. I almost didn't buy this because of the (false) measurement.
A:AnswerHi,
Yes this can be mounted to any upper cabinet. It is designed to be mounted over the stove/oven due to the overhead vent for exhaust, but not required. It just bolts into a upper cabinet for mounting purposes. A template is included to drill the holes in the correct spots.
Hope that helps.
A:AnswerYes, it can. A bracket goes to the wall behind it (included with the microwave), and two bolts get screwed into the top through the cabinet floor above the microwave. It does NOT have to vent outside, so you'd just have to set it up for recirculation/ventless when you install it. Doing this is simple and is explained pretty clearly in the manual. This is the set up I used in our kitchen, although it does happen to be above a stovetop.
Would there be issues later? Well, you'd have two holes in the base of the cabinet above it (which you'd never see when the cabinet doors are closed). If you uninstalled it later, you'd have a couple holes in the wall where you installed the back mounting bracket behind the microwave, perhaps easily patchable depending on your wall material.
A:AnswerThe handle does not get hot. I have only had mine for a short period of time, so far no problems with the control panel.....but my control panel seems to stay pretty cool.
A:AnswerMy microwave sticks out 3 1/2 in. The handle sticks an additional 1 3/4 in., but I dont have a problem with this. It looks fine because it is still only half over my stove. I find it easier to reach products in the microwave.
A:AnswerThe door is just a little stiff to open but moves very smoothly and fluidly, with a light feel. It does not seem flimsy to me; it seems solid. The buttons are not over-sensitive or easy, so it takes a definitive push to register a number.
A:AnswerI thought mine had stopped too but i forgot to clean the filters and the had clogged and the vent wont work when those filters are clogged. It is supposed to be a safety feature. I HAD TO CALL SAMSUNG to find this out.
