Yes it will i have the metal plate on the back of my phone as well

Please try again later.Attempting to charge a phone with a magnetic plate using this type of wireless charger (inductive) is basically the same as heating a frying pan on an induction stovetop. Even if you do manage to transfer some energy to the phone, the steel plate will heat up and could cause serious damage. Many wireless chargers have safety features to prevent this, so if someone actually managed to charge a phone with a steel plate between the charger coil and the phone’s pickup coil I would be very cautious with that charger. If you absolutely must have both wireless charging AND a magnetic mount, I STRONGLY suggest using an iPhone 12 with a MagSafe approved charger for this reason. I switched from Android to iPhone specifically for this feature, reluctantly but satisfied.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This charger will not be able to charge your phone through a metal plate. I have a similar magnetic mount for my car and it does not charge my iPhone. It actually says in the manual Not to have any metal between the charger and your phone.
