After looking into the manual for the fridge, there is no information about any feature that turns off the cooling capability of the fridge or the freezer when the door is ajar. Leaving the door ajar can cause frost from the condensation when the hot air from the outside meets the cold air within. Also, the fridge has a door alarm feature which is triggered if the fridge door or freeezer drawer. Please see the links for more details.
