• I'd go 1/2 down from top of refer which is where the power cord comes down from.

• Hi Jim, No special location is required for the outlet as long as it's within easy reach of the approximate 5' power cord and provides a dedicated grounded 3-prong 115V/60 Hz connection. Thanks for the question, Ms. Samsung
