“Ice cubes still taste awful. Have had the refrigerator for several months so the "dump the first few batches" no longer a solution, still awful. Was not an issue with our 18 year old fridge that we had prior to this one. Any other options?”

How old is the existing waterline? what is it made of? Could you have corrosion is the line? Try filling a clear glass pitcher or jar with water taken from the line at the end or connection at the ice maker. If the water is clear and smells ok, the problem is in the ice maker or the tubing in the refrigerator. Call the Geek Squad or Samsung if its not the waterline.
