Thank you for reaching out regarding your Samsung - 17.6 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator with FlexZone™ and Ice Maker if there is a filter for the ice maker and if you need to replace it. Regarding your concern, The water filter and the water filter installation kit, You must purchase the water filter and the water filter
installation kit at a local hardware store for the ice maker to be used.

Filter separate.
Yes, all filters need to be replaced after a certain amount of time.
See filter instructions.
Filter bought at hardware store or call Samsung.
