Thanks for your interest in the RF20HFENBSR. This model does not have a built-in water filtration system, but the manual includes instructions for attaching an external filter. I would suggest contacting your local Best Buy Appliance Team or a local plumber for assistance selecting a filter that will meet your needs. While this model doesn't meet the stringent Energy Star guidelines that were revised in 2014, it does meet the current Department of Energy (DOE) standards for efficiency. - Ms. Samsung
