The ice maker in the RF20HFENBSR is factory-installed and cannot be removed, but the ice storage container can be moved or used for storing cubes you make yourself. The automatic ice maker can be turned off if you don't wish to use it, and it suspends from the ceiling of the freezer so doesn't take up much useable space itself. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not that i'm aware of, but you could just choose to not attach the water line. This is what i've done, and the fridge functions fine (there's a control to 'not make ice'). The ice mechanism itself is pretty compact (like 5" wide by 3" tall), and is attached to the top of the freezer, so we don't even notice it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use mine for storage of smaller items. Keeps it neat and easy to get to. Quite handy.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have a water valve in my fridge space so I can't use the ice maker. I don't really like them anyway so it doesn't matter to me. It doesn't need to be removed. Nothing will happen if it isn't hooked up.
