The Stainless Platinum finish on the RF217ACPN is a coated, painted finish over metal, similar to the Black or White finishes, so should have a similar lifespan to our other non-stainless finishes, as long as the coating remains intact. As with any non-stainless finish, dents and scratches can expose the metal to oxygen and moisture which could lead to rust, so should be avoided. Customers who prefer the Stainless Platinum finish over real Stainless Steel appreciate it for its resistance to fingerprints, magnetic properties which allow for the use of refrigerator magnets to display artwork or photos, and its ease of cleaning.
