Q: What exactly is the difference between RF217ACRS and RF217ACPN?
A: the RS is Real Stainless steel and the PN is the matte stainless look. The PN is magnetic whereas the RS is not. Most stainless steel appliances will not display magnets. The PN is also more matte and does not show as many fingerprints. It looks cleaner and is cheaper than its stainless steel counterpart.
Q: is the door stainless steel or just stainless steel color
A: This is a platinum unit... it is a stainless "look", but is not stainless. Best Buy does not carry the stainless version, but other Big-Box warehouses do, if you look around.
A: The RF217ACPN is 32-1/4" wide, and Samsung recommends leaving about 1" on either side, as well as 2" above and behind the refrigerator to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently. Since the door is opening into a wall, you would really need 3-3/4" on that side for the handles to clear so the door could open at least 90-degrees and provide unobstructed access to the crisper drawer.
