“Does the Samsung A40R sound bar have surround sound without the rear speaker kit?”

• Hi! The HW-A40R includes a set of wireless rear speakers enabling surround sound on the soundbar. Without the rear speakers connected the soundbar is a 2.0ch system without surround sound. ^Tim

• It does a great job by itself but I wouldn't say that it's surround sound. All the sounds, like traffic/background conversation/etc is more what the kit gives you. I bought the bar for my husband for Christmas. He really enjoyed it but he also wanted the kit after having just the bar. I would use both of them together for the best quality sound experience.
