• Digital in is the best choice so you can leave your other outputs available for additional components.

• don't think it matters, you just use the digital out so as long as your tv has the output it should work just fine. just be sure to change your tv's settings to use the external speaker options. Just keep in mind that because it's curved, it's going to stick out oddly.
