Yes you can use your TV remote to control the sound bar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should work. It works on mine and I have a similar Samsung HD Ultra TV but 55" size. Even if it doesn't (which I don't think will be the case), you could just permanently set TV volume to 0 and use the Soundbar remote. The soundbar is so much better than the regular TV volume. Anyway, when you connect the soundbar, there is a setting in the TV that will require you to turn on in order for the TV and soundbar to calibrate together. It's great since it automatically powers up the soundbar and there is no need to adjust your TV volume since it automatically set to 0 volume.
