They both have there own power cords. The subwoofer connects to the soundbar wirelessly. The subwoofer turn on when you turn the soundbar on. If the feature is supported by you tv you can choose toturn off the tv speakers, check TV manual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both the sound bar and the sub have to be plugged in to the wall separately. There are power plugs for each. If you use the included optical cable the bar system will turn on when the TV does. This doesn't seem to be the case if you use an HDMI cable (not included) which I prefer and use. Once connected, you can choose between the TV speakers or the bar system by switching the bar off or by switching the output settings on your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound bar has to be plugged into the wall and the subwoofer has to be plugged into the wall. However, the sound bar automatically connects to subwoofer via bluetooth once turned on. Whether you can choose between speaker and tv speakers will be up to the tv. My sound bar comes on automatically, but I can turn it off and then go into tv settings to turn tv speakers on.
