• I'm not sure about Dish but it worked without any setup or programming with my DIRECTV remote.

• the sound bar can be turned on with your tv but will not turn off with your remote

• This sound bar is great when you turn your TV the sound bar turn on to that if you want it like that. The sound is perfect and loud it has a nice bass on it like if you were in a movie threatre. I give it thump up.

• I do not have the answer for the Dish remote, HOWEVER... my sound bar is controlled by my Comcast remote, along with my Samsung TV. The Geek squad guys showed me how to do this and it is so convenient. Larry
