“I have an older whirlpool stacked set. The washer died and I just want replace that unit and keep the dryer. Can I stack the whirlpool dryer on top of this washer? I realize the stacking kit probably won't work but curious if anyone has done this.”

Maybe Maybe NOT. This is a small washing machine. I the dyer you have is a standard full size then the answer is NO. Check websites for both appliances.
