My battery will usually last (while being used) about 6 hours, can't speak to the second question
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.With keys back lit, sound, streaming, etc...my charge lasts approx 4.5 hours. No streaming, mostly writing and sheets, no lit keys approx 6 hours. PC is new life, so no knowledge of battery longevity. Purchase a best buy repair/replacement plan, you get one battery when it goes.
