“Is it possible to use it without the water filter? I'd like connect my RO system and not use the filter in the fridge. Don't want to spend on filter replacement every 6 months.”

On p.23 of the User Manual, there's a discussion on RO water supplies. It implies you can remove the water filter, but please read for yourself - I might be misunderstanding as I don't know much about RO.
