A:AnswerThe only thing I will mention in response to your question is that the doors themselves are 4" deep. We ran into a problem with a kitchen remodel that the cabinet panel enclosures that were to go around the fridge didn't fit because they measured for 2" doors. The picture doesn't show on the website. but if you stand to the side of the fridge, you will see that the width of the door is about 4" . . . much wider than many fridges. This caused us to change our remodel plans and not put in the panels on the side because they would have had to be recut.
A:AnswerWe bought this model in 2017, in 2019 the issues with the icemaker started. Samsung denies, says issue is fixed, there is a class action lawsuit. We just had the icemaker replaced, one month later, same issue.
A:AnswerThanks guys.
I checked the manual as Samsung said. Control lock feature does NOT lock the dispenser, but there is apparently a lock function on the dispenser itself so the lever on the dispenser cannot be pushed in. So that is great and exactly what o was looking for.
From manual, page 34:
“Control Lock on the main panel does not affect the dispenser. The dispenser operates independently and so does the dispenser lever. To lock the dispenser and the dispenser lever, use the Lock function on the dispenser.”
A:AnswerMeasure the side of the refrigerator from the back edge to the front edge (not including the door) and add the clearance recommendation in the users manual (around 2 inches). My refrigerator is a similar setup an my wall panel is 24 3/4". It was build that way, so I pushed my frig in until I had 2" between the front edge of the panel to the front edge of the frig (not including the door). I have more space to push back but the panel edge would impede doo opening.
A:AnswerThe Samsung manual say to shut off Energy Saver mode if condensation or water drops form around the doors. I've not had this problem in the very dry South West,
A:AnswerI believe the flex zone space is included with the fridge capacity specs. You can leave a beer can standing up and the door still close. The space thing in there can be a little annoying sometimes though.
A:AnswerI have a counter along the left side of my refrigerator. The main box of the refrigerator takes up 26" of space from the wall and this clears the space needed for the doors to open wide. The measure below the doors is 35." If your counter top is above 35" the refrigerator doors cannot clear a counter top that is wider than 27"; if you slide the unit all the way to the wall. This should not be a problem, because the doors should extend outside of a flush counter top and look great. My unit is installed this way and I like it!
A:AnswerWe have a wall on the left side, we have a difficult time opening the left door enough to pull out the left vegetable bin and banging the refrigerator door against the door jam. Something we need to be aware of when opening door.
A:AnswerMy ice cube maker had issues after about one year of use. I gave up using it and keep separate ice cube trays in the freezer! The water filter is impossible to get out. Now on my 38 month the control panel is now having a ton of issues rebooting itself constantly! I also had a Samsung dishwasher...tons of issues. This is the last Samsung product I have bought and will ever buy. Pity because the fridge looks amazing, but too many functional issues!
A:AnswerI'm so glad you asked, Sidewinder7! The ice maker in this model will produce full-sized, half-moon shaped cubes. However, the dispenser offers the option to dispense the cubes whole or crushed. If crushed is selected, the dispenser will crush the ice as it is being dispensed. ^Jecca
A:AnswerI'm happy to help with this, Luz! The Auto Fill Pitcher operates separately from the external dispenser located in the door. You can turn the Auto Fill Pitcher off using the main control panel, and this will not affect the water and ice dispenser. Alternatively, you can also use the child lock feature to prevent the ice and water dispenser from functioning, though this would have no affect on the pitcher. Jecca

We bought one! We love it! We love sleek design. It was the perfect size for our space. No handles was a must. We wipe it down with paper towel or wash cloth and Dawn detergent. No smears or finger prints left behind. It keeps its beautiful shine. Not bright or cheesy . It looks high end without the big cost. We love the lay out. It functions well for us! The middles compartment or drawer is flexible in what you choose to use it for.. The freezer storage is gem.
We have not scratched it so I can speak of whether it would or could be damaged.
Hope this helps
A:AnswerBrad, did you end up purchasing this? I was wondering the same thing myself and was hoping to see if maybe the ice maker has been improved somewhat since the earlier builds. The ice maker reputation has completely swayed me from making the purchase.

A:AnswerGreat question, RJayne! The ice maker has an automatic "arm" that detects when the bucket is full. This causes the ice maker to pause production until some of the ice is removed. ^Jecca
A:AnswerI have been forced to call out service techs twice in the year I have bought my Samsung to repair your symptoms. Each time with hesitation, I was told by the service tech that Samsung was aware of this defect. The solution was to replace the Assembly Auger Motor, the Assembly Ice maker itself and the Assembly "Y" clip.
My symptoms were similar to yours. The ice maker could not maintain a constant temperature causing the ice to "re-freeze" and clog the ice maker preventing production of ice. The freezer had similar problems as if the thermostat could not maintain a constant temperature causing ice cream to melt then re-freeze and frost to form on all the items stored in the freezer.
Good luck
