The chemical odor (off-gassing) from a new dishwasher is a regular occurrence due to the manufacturing processes and generally dissipates after a few regular uses. Here is a link to the user manual; kindly go to pages 41-43 under "filter," and page 50 for troubleshooting steps to alleviate the odor in your dishwasher.
