it has a child safe feature and it is needed even if there are no children in the house. The control buttons are so sensitive that the slightest leaning against the unti will turn it on.

Samsung dishwashers do have a Child Lock option to prevent little fingers from changing settings or starting the dishwasher unintentionally.
