Customers value the quiet operation and stainless steel interior of this dishwasher. However, many customers reported issues with the dishwasher's cleaning ability and the design of the racks. Concerns were also raised regarding the control panel's sensitivity and the length of wash cycles. Improvements in cleaning performance and rack design would significantly enhance customer satisfaction.

I have owned this Samsung DMT300RFB/X dishwasher for 9 months now. It has a problem in that it runs for 5 minutes and then the cycle stops and goes into an error mode. Approximately 70% of the time it runs the complete cycle the first time. If it stops you simply have to restart it. About 10% of the time it requires multiple restarts. Not a showstopper, but annoying.
A repairman said it can do this if the hot water was run right before you start the dishwasher. Apparently if very hot water hits the dishwasher it can trigger a sensor which shuts it off. I rinse dishes while loading the dishwasher, so of course the hot water will be hot when I start the dishwasher.
The next biggest problem is that it stinks. In spite of the fact that I rinse the dishes very well (a habit I can't break), apparently food rots in the bottom and stinks. This may be a downside to having a disposal in the dishwasher - more surfaces for food to cling to. Maybe if I left more food on the dishes the new food would clean the old food out of the disposal?
I bought this dishwasher because I liked the flexible bottom rack for pots and pans. But I have decided this particular design is not any better than having fixed tangs on the rack. You need something to hold the pots/pans on their side, otherwise one large pot takes up the whole space when face down. The top rack is nice. It's deep and you can put a lot of stuff in there.
It also doesn't dry the dishes completely. Granted, there will always be puddles which will be difficult to impossible to dry. But some extra "sanitize" cycle time would be nice. I do live in Utah, which is one of the driest areas on the planet.
It takes forever to run a cycle. I always us the longest cycle which takes roughly a couple of hours. I suspect most new appliances share this trait - our new clothes washer takes almost an hour - the old one was 30 minutes.
It seems to clean well, but I rinse well and use the longest cycle.
It is very quiet.
The repairman said that the mechanical parts of dishwashers are very durable. It's the electronics that break. Take away: buy a cheap, simple dishwasher. Note: our dishwasher washer is still not fixed.

Nice Stainless Tub

I'm a Samsung Fan. Remember the price range your looking in.
Start with good. Stainless Tub and Ultra Quiet. I like the coating on racks, hope it will hold up longer. Racks design are ok, but that is something that should get easier the more we load it. Like the covered heat element.
The Bad. Doesn't clean very well. Have to place dishes with lots of space between them, so cannot fill as full as others I've uses. Does not dry at all, when I bought it, didn't plan on having to dry manually or add drying agent. Some of the plastic pieces are little cheesy.
This is my 4th washer in 6 mo, 2 old, 2 new. Replaced one in house we sold, then just replaced one in house we bought, this was the only Samsung. Would of taken back, but got busy and missed 30 day. Would only recommend for quality not cleaning.

I really like Samsung products. Our next purchase for the kitchen will probably be a new Samsung Refrigerator. This dishwasher was on sale and had the lowest dba noise rating (for the price). Our older dishwasher was noisy and didnt clean the dishes well at all.
This new machine, with stainless steel insides and adjustable top rack is better than we could have hoped for. The noise level is so quiet that I can start it, while in the kitchen and no one can hear it running over normal talking.
The only item I would recommend is the redesign of the racks for practical use of dishes and glassware. I looked at the recommendations int he manual; however, I don't thinky anyone actually tried putting in a full load of glasses in the top rack.
Also, during installation, the bottom of the unit has to guide tracks for power and water. Make sure you have enough water lines and room to install the unit. Samsung should have left more room to maneuver the water and power when trying toinstall and slide the unit back.
Overall, I HIGHLY rececommend and feel that Samsung made a great product here.

I bought this dishwasher when it was on sale and installed it myself. It's very easy to install if you know what you're doing. I'm happy with the size on the inside, the fact that its newer/updated to what we've been used to, but it lacks the option for heated dry (or just drying in general)... My wife and are very disappointed with the fact that every time, no matter if the best settings are on (including sanitize) or minimal settings, the dishes do not come out dry (even after 1 day sitting). It sometimes has a particular tin/stainless steel smell when it finishes a wash, but if you leave your 'clean' dishes over night, the smell gets a little intense the next morning, and makes you wonder if it's clean, or its just the stainless steel smell... I would not recommend this specific dishwasher and it's very hard for me to say this about a Samsung product since everything in my house is samsung: fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, 2 plasma tv's, and surround sound home theatre. I would recommend spending the extra $100 or so to get the upgraded model. I really wanted to get the $800 model, and now I'm regretting not choosing that option... : /

I returned this dishwasher!

I had this dishwasher in my home for a month and I was so unsatisfied with its performance I returned it to the store. Longer cycle times are common in new dishwashers and the normal wash cycle takes almost 3 hours to run. I wouldn't mind that if the dishes came out clean, but they didn't. Even using a rinse aid all the glassware came out cloudy, the silverware had a film and the plates felt gritty at times. Even rinsing all the dishes beforehand didn't help. Clean rinsed glasses would have food particles on the inside after being run through the dishwasher. Also the dishes were never dry. The top rack slopes down on one side, which I first thought was a great idea, until I realized that the low side was over the silverware basket. This meant that nothing tall could be put in the silverware basket or it would block that spinning wash arm attached under the upper rack. Also the space in the upper rack was awkward for loading and my glasses always fell over when I moved the rack. Overall it just doesn't work. The low price was very attractive but in the end it was more worth the hassle of returning it than it was to live handwashing my dishes after they have been run through the dishwasher. I probably only used this dishwasher a handful of times in the month I had it. I replaced this dishwasher with a different brand that cost a little more money, but I am very satisfied and have learned my lesson.

A saw a few negative reviews about this dishwasher but went ahead and purchased it anyways. The price was right at Best Buy plus they had free installation which I couldn't pass up. The installer did a great job, plus fixed my leaky pipe at no charge. (That never happens) I do a lot of computer and phone work in my kitchen and I needed a dishwasher that was quiet. My last dishwasher which was a GE was so loud that I could not use the phone while a load was running. But with my new Samsung I can be on the phone and no one would ever know I was washing dishes. The upper rack is adjustable which is perfect for those large items. I also, like the hidden heating element. My last dishwasher burned a few plastic dishes and stunk up the house. The bottom rack is huge and fits all of my plates and even my large pots and bowls. The other big feature on the Samsung is ease of use. My wife loves it because all you do is push 3 buttons to run a load. First you push the Power Button then the Normal Button and then Start. "That's It." The two silverware holders come out so you can put your silverware away quickly. My dishes have all come out very clean. Best of all it matches my 46" Samsung LCD that is hanging over my fireplace. Cheers!!

We have had dishwashers for many years...This model you can't go wrong..You can't hear it running unless your standing next to it..It cleans baked on dishes spotless..uses very little water ,being Energy Star rated. We have had it for about 1 1/2 month's. My wife loves it..the cost is really low for the quality of the product. Its stainless steel tub, nylon racks and tall design will hold all you can put into it and everything come's out spotless. If your looking for a good dishwasher that priced in this range...It's by far the best deal

I wanted a stainless steel interior and this model had the best price.
Pros: Very quiet. The first time I ran the dishwasher, I had to put my ear up to the front to make sure it was working. Well made. Easy to install (replaced an existing dishwasher). Contents are clean and spotless when using a variety of liquid dishwashing soap.
Cons: I have to adjust coffee cups and glasses on the top rack as each row is a different width. Note: be sure to confirm that your glassware will fit. If you accidently shut it off or you lose power, you can't start the cycle where you left off. You must start it again from the wash cycle.
If you are looking for a well made stainless steel interior model at a great price and don't need lots of bells and whistles, this dishwasher is a great choice.

I had to replace my dishwasher that I had for 19 years. Looked around & decided on the Samsung since I have other products from Samsung that I love. The dishwasher is very quiet & looks really nice but that is all I can say for it. My dishes have come out still dirty unless I rinse them completely off before putting them in & I do mean completely. No matter what setting we have it on, including Sanitize & with the rinse agent that is recommended .... the dishes have NEVER come out dry, especially on the top rack. The dishes on the lower rack will not stay upright because of the slant on the rack & OMG do not even get me started on the design of the top rack, it's absolutely worthless ..... I will be returning this unit to BB & getting something different.

I got a great price and a low installation charge for my purchase of this dishwasher. I did the usual on line research for reviews and as usual they were not as helpful as one would think. I originally opted for a differently model but they were all sold out. The salesman suggested this machine, and stated he thought it was a great buy for the price, and a very good machine. The installation and delivery was very fast and professional, they were in and out in 35 minutes.
This machine is amazingly quiet, you can hardly hear it running, the TV drowns it out and not the other way around. The sanitize mode is fairly long, but since it is so quiet who cares. If you are in a hurry just use the normal mode. The dishes come out sparkling clean and dry. I don't understand some of the comments in reviews here about dishes not being dry, if you wait till the machine stops, they are always dry for us.There were some complaints about not being able to rearrange the dishes in the trays, I don't get it, there are many ways to stack the dishes and cups, and surely room for a large family setiing. The attachments for stacking silverware in the top tray are a bit of a nuisance but you can remove them easily if you choose not to use them. We have only had the unit for about 6 weeks, but I am extremely satisfied with its operation. I will post a review again in a few months time.

Very Quiet, hard to organize

This is a very quiet unit compared to our old Fridgidare unit.
Being able to raise and lower the top drawer is great. BUT I really recommend bringing in dishes when you go to shop.
It has all the features that we wanted but organizing the dishes is a nightmare. the front section of the bottom has too many spaces for small dishes and not enough for large dishes.
Take note how the front 2 rows on the bottom are off set. This makes it difficult to load the washer with even medium size dishes. if you could lower the risers in the front it would be great!
If we knew about this we might not have purchased this model.

So Quiet, can barely hear it running! Cleans very well. Stainless tub is definately a plus. we had it installed for $20! how can you beat that? Only had it about 2 weeks, but so far it has performed very well. Dont know about all of the reviews about it not drying. It dries much better than our last dishwasher ever did! You have to use rinsaid and put it on sanitize. No delay start, to us its not an issue with how quiet this machine is

It never dried the dishes, even with the drying agent. The cycles were ridiculously long. It did have a child lock which had to be used all the time, even without children in the house, because the control buttons, when lightly leaned against would turn the unit on. Within less than 30 days, the control panel started flashing an error code and the unit would not run. Best Buy replaced it with a new Samsung, same model. Within less than 30 days the 2nd one started erroring out and would not complete a cycle and had to have the water manually drained out. After 2 months of having no dishwasher, Samsung allowed Best Buy to swap the unit out for us. We bought a Maytag and have been thrilled with it. It even dries the dishes without the jet dry. The cycles are of normal length. and it cleans very well.
I have to give credit to Best Buy for their service in assisting me in getting the faulty Samsungs replaced and then finally swapped out for a different brand dishwasher. This was my first experience buying a major appliance from Best Buy and I have to say I was very pleased with their service and helpful staff.

My wife and I both a satisfied with the unit. It is exceptionally quiet, does a good job of cleaning the dishes, energy efficient, and especially like the stainless inside.
Only down side is the long wash cycle.

Very pleased with my new Samsung dishwaher. If it wasn't for the blue lights by the buttons I would never know it was on. This has to be the most quiet dishwasher on the market. Before I purchased this Samsung I did a thorough test on many brands. I found that the Samsung was built the most sturdy. One way you can test this is by doing the following. Open up the doors of all of the dishwashers in the store. Once the door is open, hold it by its sides and wiggle it. All of the other brand dishwashers had cheap hinges and the doors wiggled very easily. But when you open the Samsung door and give it a wiggle you can easily tell that the quality was much superior than the others. It was heavier and sturdier and the hinges did not buckle like all of the rest. Even the more expensive brands did not stand up to this test. After I purchased the Samsung I took off the plastic lids on the silverware trays since they just got in the way. I also took off the wine glass holders on the top tray which gave me more room on the upper shelf. I found that the system dried better when running in the Sanitize mode. I would recommend this diswasher to everyone.

I agree with all the negative comments. This dishwasher does not clean your dishes and harbors a funky odor. I was told to use Lime Shine and Finish to clean my dishes best but this did not help (with the odor). The control panel did something weird one day, it switched settings in the middle of the wash and I had no other choice than to start the cycle again. I have heard people complaint about drying the dishes after the wash cycle so I recommend buying a dishwasher with the heated dry option and a brand you have thoroughly investigated. Possibly a well known brand that has been in business making reliable dishwashers-this would not be Samsung- well not right now anyway.
A good looking dishwasher does not mean that it will clean your dishes well. I have learned this the hard way.

My wife and I had to replace a Bosh dishwasher that came with our house when we bought it. We knew it would be difficult to replace as it is very quiet. We searched the internet and discovered that this Samsung by reviews, descriptions, and price would be a very good candidate.
It is everything that it is advertised. Some of the reviews are a little harsh. We've discovered that the "Sanitize" button really means "Dry". Therefore, if the machine isn't drying your dishes, then press the "Sanitize" button and your dishes will get dry.
This Samsung isn't as quiet as our old Bosch, but it is extremely quiet. There is no need to turn up TVs, stereos, or conversation while it is running.
We have also found that liquid detergent runs best with it. The desolvable plastic "all-in-ons" tend to stick to the plastic container in the door. Therefore, if it wasn't for that and the fact the "sanitize" button really means"dry", then I would have given its performance rating an Excellent as well.
We love it. It looks great. It is quiet. It has great features and our dishes get cleaned very well. Therefore, I highly recommend this product.
As a side note: Best Buy sold this product to us on sale and then threw in free installation and haul-away when we had to wait a month for it. On top of that Best Buy backed there 30-day price guarantee when three weeks later I saw it for seventy-five dollars less. Best Buy gave me the seventy-five dollar difference with tax in cash. They are to be commended for their integrity as well. Not only has Samsung earned my loyalty, but Best Buy has as well.

This dishwasher is extremely quiet and works well. We chose this model for the front button controls and the forced air drying. It also has a pause-resume button which is convenient for stopping the water before opening the door when it is running. Overall, a solid, seemingly well-built machine. Could be easier to load though, because like other manufacturers, Samsung emphasizes the number of place settings it will hold. The result is that the tines are too close together and there are too many of them in both the top and bottom racks.
This is our second Samsung dishwasher. The first, in another house, had the touch controls on top of the door which we found way too sensitive. Just a light brush of the hand over the control panel would change the cycle and make it start all over again. The front button controls eliminates this problem.
