Customers are saying

Customers value the quiet operation and stainless steel interior of this dishwasher. However, many customers reported issues with the dishwasher's cleaning ability and the design of the racks. Concerns were also raised regarding the control panel's sensitivity and the length of wash cycles. Improvements in cleaning performance and rack design would significantly enhance customer satisfaction.

I just got this installed and found that it doesnt dry the dishes very well. I called Samsung and they suggest buying dryaid? NOT Happy! I want a real dishwasher that both washes and dries! Not half of the job!

    Don't buy this dishwasher!

I have had this dishwasher for one month. You practically have to hand wash the dishes before they go into the machine if you want them to come out clean. There hasn't been one load that hasn't had at least half of the dishes go back in for the second time. The manual shows three different arrangements for loading dishes. Each portrays 3 rows of dishes in the bottom rack; with regular size dinner plates, this is just impossible. The upper rack doesn't hold glasses securely so they fall over or don't fit between the tines. I wouldn't even try to sell this dishwasher to someone else and buy a new one because I wouldn't want someone else to be as unhappy as I am . I would rate it a zero if it was an option. Don't buy this product!

This is absolutely the worst dishwasher

This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Half the time dishes don't come out clean and I use commercial grade detergent! You can't turn off the dry cycle. It takes hours to go through the heavy cycle which is the only cycle I use since it doesn't clean well using that cycle - why bother with the rest. Tall silverware does not fit in the silverware racks. No ability to change configuration other than dropping or lifting the top rack.

    JUNK!

I probably shouldn't write this review right now because I am so irritated with this dishwasher, but I hope I'm able to save others from what I've had to go through. This Samsung dishwasher doesn't get the dishes clean nor dry. You have to practically clean them before you even put them in the unit because the filter is a screen---nothing will go down. The screen clogs up and the unit stops completely. I had to have this dishwasher serviced after just 2 weeks of light use. The lights started blinking again a couple of weeks later so I called Best Buy and asked them for a refund or to swap it with a different brand--they told me no because it had been 34 days since purchase (just 4 days past their 30-day guarantee). I called Samsung and asked them to buy their dishwasher back from me...of course they told me no. I ended up calling Best Buy for repair on this machine 4 times in the past year. My one-year manufacturer warranty just expired 2 weeks ago. Guess what? The lights started blinking again so we had to call a repairman (money out of our pockets) only to be told that the motor is shot and it's next to impossible to get another one. So yeah, I am now shopping for another dishwasher; it will NOT be a Samsung! This dishwasher has so many negative reviews and now I see why (they weren't here when I initially purchased it). As others have said, the dishwasher is very quiet. It is pretty. That's all. It doesn't clean the dishes, it smells, it doesn't dry the dishes at all, the bottom rack wheels fell off very quickly after purchase, normal wash cycle takes about 3 hours (and still doesn't dry the dishes). You cannot have anything in front of the detergent door or the door won't open (it opens by dropping down). It is very easy to slide the bottom rack all the way out and you have to fight with it to get it back in. This purchase has been an absolute nightmare. I've hand-washed more dishes this past year than this Samsung dishwasher has cleaned. I had a GE dishwasher before this one and only got rid of it because I wanted the stainless steel tub--big mistake because that one still worked and it actually cleaned the dishes. Bottom line, ANY other dishwasher on the market is better than this one. Save your money, time, and sanity. ;)

My wife and I bought this dishwasher in Late June or early July to replace an old GE from 1986. Was easy to install . This dishwasher is really quiet, sometimes its hard to tell if it is on unless you look at the lights on the front. Gets dishes SUPER Clean. You need to be careful though, try not to lean against the buttons on this one, it can accidentally start it up. Listen for the chime and you will know. Also love the kid lockout feature.

We almost didn't buy this dishwasher because we had seen a number of poor reviews on Samsung dishwashers. After a discussion with a Best Buy rep, and considering the dishwasher was on sale and had a free installation promotion, we decided to purchase. It's a good dishwasher. It does a good job cleaning the dishes. It is extremely quite. The only thing I really don't like is that the configuration to put in dishes is not anywhere near ideal. I could put in many more dishes into my old dishwasher with basic tines that were the same distance apart. Cereal bowls especially do not fit well into this dishwasher. But I can deal with that. The price was good and I love how quite the machine is.

After having a GE dishwasher for 13 years, really not bad in its self, we really wanted a fuller range of options and cycle sellection. This Samsug gave us what we wanted and more. It is so quiet, you can be cooking and not even know it is on. I really can't thing of any negitives. The stainless steel interior eleminates staining of plastic and the racks give you indiviudaulized washers for each and a wide range of loading options.

We purchased this dishwasher because it seemed to have good reviews. Once it was installed we noticed it smelled real bad if you left any dishes in it more than a few hours. (previous dishwasher did not have this problem. One year and 4 months after the install we are getting the blinking blue light letting us know that the dishwasher is no longer working. Tried all the fixes from the call center none worked. Setting up a servie call and was told this would not be under warranty. Do yourself a favor pick another dishwasher!

    Quiet, efficient dishwasher

We had an amana dishwasher for about 2 years that we had purchased from Home Depot. The control board ended up malfunctioning and it would have cost about the same to repair as it would to purchase a new dishwasher. We bought this samsung for $315 plus the 4 year warranty, and we installed it ourself. For the price, it's been a great purchase so far. The quick wash does take around 80 minutes but my dishes came out spotless. The dishwasher is so quiet, I can barely tell it is running. So far, I'm happy....I learned my lesson not buying a warranty with our amana dishwasher. I won't do that again:) Also, I absolutely love the child lock! My 3 year old son loves to push the buttons and now I just set the child lock, and he can't open it or accidentally start it!

This dishwasher replaced a fridigare we only had for about 2 years before it went out on us. The sales woman at the store recommended this dishwasher to us. I am amazed by the difference in quality between the two, insulation and casing, tub, features, everything and we paid MORE for the frigidare! I got the warranty (of course), which was also much less expensive at Best Buy than it was at other stores. So happy with my purchase overall. Thanks Best Buy!

    Works Great

Most of the time we don't even remember it is running because it runs so soft. Just make sure you don't fill the detergent too full if using the normal cycle or it will run down the door and stay on the dishes in the front in huge globs. This is the only problem we have had so far but it is now under control because we figured out how much to use for the normal cycle.

We bought this dishwasher because we were told that it was quiet. It is indeed quiet, that is probably because it doesn't wash the dishes. Also it doesn't have a drying setting. So you first get barely washed dishes then you have to dry them yourself, and then when we pulled out the rack after the first use two wheels fell off. I am a huge Samsung person but not this dishwasher. We returned it after the first use. we purchased a kitchenaid and it is much better.

The previous review I gave was 3 star, but said I'd recommend. They asked the 2nd day I purchased, so what did I know then huh? DONT do it. Just got worse. Does not work properly. We literally prewash all the dishes before loading. Most loads are run a 2nd time even before we can take the dishes out of the unit. Then rinsed and wiped (with soapy sponges) yet again before putting away.

    Sleek look disguised poor performance

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Don't be fooled by the sleek looks. This dishwasher isn't as user friendly as you might think. The control pad on the front is frustrating. Aside from the easy to press buttons if you slightly brush against the buttons you can turn off the dishwasher. The childlock button seems to work but can be frustrating to use if you need to open the machine during the cycle. We use the sanitize/heavy clean cycle and the dishes are not being cleaned completely. We don't leave our dirty dishes on the counter for hours after a meal. We load the dishwasher, add soap and run it. This isn't rocket science. We had a Kenmore in our old house for about 7 years and had no problems and were even impressed many times with its ability to clean dishes. Be smart about the what you buy. Don't look at the sleek looks and fancy controls. Look at the utility of it and the effectiveness.

samsung has had 2 different repair centers try to fix this piece of garbage. you can put clean hand washed dishes in it then run a cycle and they come out dirty! a&e factory service has been scheduled at my house every wednesday for 5 weeks to fix this problem. they even failed to show up twice. and never called. samsung is saying they are refunding my entire purchase, but ive already lost $1250 in lost wages. that can buy a few of these boat anchor dishwashers. buyer beware. i wouldnt buy another samsung product in my life. even the repair center said they are one of the cheapest made. wish i had read reviews before purchasing

Piece of junk. Didn't wash well at all. One day after warranty period, the machine failed. Best Buy wouldn't service the product. Found out not too many folks will. Best buy contracts out service. The folks called and wanted 80 buck over the phone from my credit card. Then told me it wouldn't apply to the service. Heck with it. A total loss. Buy from someone else.

After trying any combinations of settings, you can only expect good result for the bottom rack. The top rack is as dirty as what it was if not more. You would expect that when you child-lock the machine, it can't be turned on and off, don't you? Well, the designers of this machine simply didn't get this.

We spent many weeks researching dishwashers and finally decided on this one. We are extremely happy with our selection. We've had to check to see if the unit is running it is so quiet. Good thing there are lights on the front. The dishwasher is also much larger then the one it replaced we sometimes have a difficult time trying to fill it. I don't think our dishes have ever been this clean.
