Thanks for the question. The exact timing of when the detergent is dispensed depends in part on which cycle and options are selected. If I'm understanding you correctly, you've already been working with a service technician who determined there was a malfunction. If this is the case and the issue is recurring, I would suggest contacting either Best Buy or Samsung again by calling 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG. Following up with the same team is helpful in finding a solution. If your dishwasher has not been serviced, please try the following to make sure the detergent door is able to open properly: - Make sure you are not overfilling the soap dispenser. Only fill it up to or below the fill line. - Check for a build up of soap residue in and around the soap dispenser. If residual soap builds up, it can cause the dispenser door to stick. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the dispenser with warm water to remove residual soap build-up. - If you are using any brand of "Tablet" soap, make sure the tablet is seated properly in the dispenser and the dispenser door closes correctly. - Check the load in the dishwasher. If a utensil is protruding from the rack, it may stick up in front of the dispenser and prevent the dispenser door from opening fully. If these troubleshooting tips do not help to resolve the issue, please contact Best Buy or Samsung at the numbers above to initiate a service request. - Ms. Samsung
