Update: Contacted Samsung tech support and looked in the supplied .pdf manual. There is no mention of a process to purge new water filters of loose carbon for this model. Samsung tech support only reiterated what the manual states and THERE IS NO WAY TO PURGE NEW WATER FILTERS OF LOOSE CARBON FOR THIS MODEL. You will have to discard several days worth of ice in order to purge your new water filter, or modify your water lines yourself in this refrigerator to manually purge the filter, or use and ingest carbon contaminated ice (I don't think it is harmful though, just nasty) or find a way to purge the new water filter prior to installing/replacing.
