• Yes you can use with chrome box it comes with an hdmi cord

• if your Chromebox requires anything to be a mini, such as a mini HDMI or mini USB, then yes you have to buy a special cable, and those can start at $30, but new monitors like this come with a vga/dvi adapter and a HDMI to HDMI or dvi to HDMI cable already. (sometimes an HDMI to display port, or dvi to display port)

• I don't own a chrome box. But if it has a hdmi connection it will work. HDMI cable is included. If your chromebox has a display port you may need to puchase a display port cable.
