“When was this refrigerator manufactured? I understand Samsung has changed coolant type since 2014 because it had some problems. Is that true?”

• Hi Kisco, The RF28K9070SG, which is a new model, and all other Samsung Refrigerators currently produced for the U.S. market use only R134A refrigerant. The original 4-Door Flex model, RF32FMQDBSR, did use an alternate refrigerant for a short time, but switched to R134A in June 2014 to enable the compressor to be serviced more easily if necessary.
