The tv does have av hookups to hook to your Comcast box with no problems. If you have HD service on your account, you can change to an HD box at no additional charge; if not, HD service is an extra $8-10 a month. To SKYPE, you have to have a camera compatible with that specific tv. A regular webcam will not work. Cameras usually run $100 & up depending on resolution and extras. Doesn't matter how far from the tv you are to SKYPE, just how far you are from the camera. Cameras can usually pick up the whole room but you can get an cable to extend the length of the camera cord.

To Skype, you'd need a Samsung TV camera: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-skype-camera/4750007.p?id=1219103647855&skuId=4750007 Download the Skype app onto your Samsung Smart TV and away you go: http://youtu.be/R6oj5AKI6cg Distance to the camera is relative. At 10 feet, that'll be fine. The people that will be talking to you will just see all of you. There will be a window showing how you appear to your audience. Part 2: Nowadays for any cable box it's recommended that you use an HDMI cable for optimal quality and compatibility. That will carry sound and video in one cable. If not using HDMI, component cables are your next best step. You need to pair them with some sort of audio cables. Your audio cable choices are TOSLink (digital) or stereo component cables. The TOSLink cables are preferred over composite cables. Composite cables are on the lowest ring of the totem pole. There are also composite video cable (one cable usually denoted with a yellow connection end) which are not the same as component cables (3 cables in a pack: Red, Green, Blue). Component cables will support HD video signals.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For Skype you would need a microphone & camera attached to TV and internet access. Also Some smart TVs have them, Netflex may have an App to download to TV or if you are signed-up to another program or Google may have similar program. Comcast has a black box or DVR antenna/cable far left input, and another output to TV. You will need two(2) antenna cables.
