• It is not 12 volts. Yes you would need a 12v dc to 115v ac converter or a generator.

• Off the shelf tvs don't run on dc currents. There may be some made for dc 12v currents but not anything you'll find at best buy or any other consumer store. Yes, buy a 12v to 120 converter will work fine. Put it on a good surge protector though
