“Having some issues with lag. Extending on this with a DP cable and a non-4k HP monitor with and HDMI. And my HP is moving way smoother. I have a 2017 Macbook pro. Any advice? Also do I have to use the monitor at the big res? Everything is so small.”

Anytime you change the connections the monitor will take a very long time to reset. Once this is done, there will be a fast start next time. The monitor will work fine with lower resolutions. This is a great monitor. Check out the P in P, it is great
