I would remove it because I removed mine. Once you the sub is on, the hole creates a resonance that blows air outside and helps create deeper sound. If you leave the film on, all you might hear is the film rumbling.

I "believe" mine is rattling that taut plastic. I just installed it and will need to run tests. I'm going to leave the plastic on and if its is rattling, then I'll tape gorilla tape on it.
