Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for asking this question. Unbelievably, the Specs on the BestBuy site do not mention the width. I also have a 40" Samsung, but 40" diagonal TV = 36" wide. So this soundbar is wider than the 40" TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 46" Samsung and it is a perfect fit. There is a few inches of the TV each side of the Sound bar. The exact width is in the specs of the product and you could use the to judge whether it would work for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know the exact width, but I think it will look fine with a 40" tv. My TV is 60 inch, and the sound bar fits between the "feet" of the television . Also, it is rather unobtrusive, at least for me, as it is black under a black-frame TV on a dark espresso finish stand.
