It's always better to USE the Same Manufacturer's cable connections.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not know if using this new style USB cable will eliminate the error msg you quoted...... BUT I can advise you to select the WIRELESS choice when using the SmartSwitch app. Just place both phones side by side, open the app in each phone, and choose which phone will send & which phone will receive. Then just follow the prompts & select the data you want transferred to the new device. No cable is needed between the phones, and it works exactly the same. (Just make sure that both phones have at least 40% battery charge when you start, OR have each phone plugged into its appropriate charging cable & charging during the switch, so as to maintain enough charge during the switch. And then you'll be good to go! ((NOTE: This same wireless technique works with the app "Smart Switch", as well as the app "AT&T Mobile Transfer", and the similar data-transfer apps from other cellphone carriers.))
