“How does the upper oven cook without the heating element? I understand that when the oven is seperated in two, the upper oven is heated with the top element, but how does the food not get burnt on top since the heat source is directly above it?”

Thanks for the question. When Convection Bake is selected for the Upper Oven, the fan helps to circulate the hot air so the food cooks evenly, not just on the top. - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used the top portion on convection bake the other day, and the food didn't burn. It's no different than using a toaster oven. It's almost the same distance from the food to the heating element above as it is in the toaster oven, only maybe the range has slightly more distance.
