“Are the cast iron grates coated with anything? porcelain etc? I have spills burnt onto the grates and was wondering if throwing them in the dishwasher would suffice? If they are coated i would need to use a different cleaning method”

Thanks for the question. It's fine to place the cast iron grates in a dishwasher if washing or soaking them in warm, soapy water doesn't suffice. They do not have a coating that requires a special cleaning method. - Ms. Samsung
