• That depends on how far the signal sending tower is from your antenna.The signal can also be weakened or lost if obstructed by tall buildings, topography . and other obstacles.

• You don't need anything else hun, as long as the t.v. you buy has the converter built in, otherwise you would need to buy a digital converter box and connect that to the t.v. and your antenna.
