I, too, thought the legs were a bit spindly for this size of TV but I attached them and my TV is sitting on the top shelf of a stereo/TV/bookcase cabinet. I have no dogs/kids running around to knock into the cabinet, and so far, so good. TV seems secure so long as there is no earthquake.
